Man Stranded in Nome, AK Survives on Beer

How can I tell if it's cold?

A man in Nome, Alaska was stranded for 60 hours after “seeing how far north he could get on his way out of town.” He found out when his car hit a snowdrift and became stuck. Then he had plenty of time to think about how he should have dressed warmer, packed survival gear in his truck, and told absolutely anyone where he was going. Search planes ended up finding him after he missed work for a couple days. He had no food in the pickup, but managed to eat three cans of Coors light that was frozen solid. If only he’d had more (and better) beer, he could have peed his way out of the snowdrift.

  1. the Outage

Re. the last sentence: not to be ornery, but does better beer yield more pee?

Maybe the thinking here is that no one could possibly consume large quantities of Coors Light, even if his life depended on it.
