Arizona Closing 10 State Parks

By Rocky Thompson on April 30th, 2010

More bad news for the people of Arizona. A budget shortfall means that 10 of the state parks will likely close. Man, that state has been getting the crap kicked out of it lately. The parks stayed open briefly as private money was raised to cover their operating expenses, but the massive shortfall has made the locals desperate. If only there were a source of cheap labor they could use as a means to boost their local economy…

Too bad about the parks, but your last comment made me laugh. Good point!

You really should stick to sports hero gossip and blather on new gear and leave off on the big stuff like how cheap labor boosts an economy. That is unless you want to return to a pre Civil War economy where labor was cheap and performed by slaves.
Now, maybe if Arizona didn’t have to pay for the health and welfare of a huge illegal immigrant population their budget woes wouldn’t necessitate having to close down parks.

As an Arizonan, I agree with Salt Water.

    how mature, salt water
way to validate the the negative perceptions of your state… a racist and a homophobe…. a true Arizonian

My state? I never said I lived there. But you did. I’m just standing up to ignorant, out of touch comments made by you others.
You got called on it and you play the race and homophobic card. Very weak. But I’m not surprised in light of the fact that you name an entire state a laughing stock.
    That’s mature?

Republicans were the ones that left the border less secure… and illegals will never receive free healthcare under Obama. Do some homework before blathering politics on this forum!!

I’m pretty sure there is plenty of cheap LEGAL labor available. Last time I checked there were record highs of unemployment. Why would we give more opportunities to law breaking illegals and punish our own law abiding citizens by refusing them jobs and now national parks as well??? It’s a sad day when the good law abiding citizens get punished and the lawbreakers get rewarded.
