Death Valley Dreamlapse

Wednesday, January 30th, 2013

The crew that shot the excellent Sunchaser Star Trails video packed up and headed to the Eureka Dunes in Death Valley National Park to shoot a new video that’s also very good: Death Valley Dreamlapse. It offers you the Jim Morrison wandering-the-desert feeling without the necessary peyote. The footage includes a UFO, in this case a flying object that they were unable to identify, but it’s not necessarily from outer space. You can see it around 1:30-1:35.

Did you miss the largest solar storm that’s hit Earth in the last three years? It was the other week. Those of us who don’t live close to the planet’s poles didn’t notice much of a difference, but people in the polar regions got a special Aurora Borealis treat. This timelapse comes from Northern Norway.

I sat and watched this video for about ten minutes the other day. Yeah, I know it’s only three minutes long, but I watched it about three times and wished I was outside instead of sitting at my desk. Landscapes was shot by Dustin Farrell in Arizona and Utah. If you’ve been here, I suspect you’ll recognize some of the places.
