Rex Lint put together this short video on photographer Corey Rich. It’s an inspiring story (plus there’s some nice Patagonia product placement in it).
Thanks Brian

Steve Casimiro at Adventure Journal pulled together some Vittorio Sella photographs that document early climbing expeditions in Italy. Sella was the first to climb several iconic peaks in Italy during winters, and he was certainly the only one willing to haul the massive gear required to shoot photos. See more of them on the Panopticon Gallery’s site.
You’re essentially forced to believe that something in the universe has it out for you if this kind of weather pattern interrupts your Hawaiian vacation. This volcano/tornado photos is part of the Extreme Exposures exhibit currently running at the Annenberg Space for Photography in LA. While I think we can all agree that the word ‘Extreme’ was overused to the point of nausea in the late 90s, it doesn’t feel like overkill in this situation.

Ever wonder how people get those great climbing landscape photos or shoot those insanely dull climbing videos? Australian climbing photographer Simon Carter shot this short video with some behind the scenes looks at how to take great photos. Everyone who makes their climbing friends sit through slideshows should watch this. No one else needs bother.

A California teacher bought a box of glass negatives and stored them under his pool table for a decade. He joked to friends that they were shot by Ansel Adams since they were Yosemite images, and eventually his joking culminated in an investigation that verified their authenticity and valued them at $200 million. The photos come from Adams early work - most of which was destroyed in a darkroom fire. The man paid $45 for the box at a garage sale after bargaining the previous owner down from $75. On an unrelated note, I’ll sell you a box of garbage for $75 - oh, ok $45 - you never know, it could contain the original Bill of Rights (or a bunch of socks with holes).
