Greg Hill Meets the Vancouver Locals

Friday, November 12th, 2010

Backcountry.com Athlete Greg Hill took an afternoon off from climbing miles of vert to sit down with a morning show in Canada. I have to say, it feels a bit odd to watch a morning news program where the hosts ask intelligent questions and don’t descend into insane, drunken banter. Check in with Greg Hill on his site - he’s in the stretch on his 2 million feet goal.

Greg Hill Profiled in Upcoming Powder Magazine

Friday, November 5th, 2010

Look for an interview with Backcountry.com Athlete Greg Hill in the upcoming Powder magazine. I read it and learned that he has a sweet mustache. Check in on his page - a bit over 300,000 vert left (we all get champagne when he finishes even though we didn’t have to do anything).

Greg Hill 2Mil on Eating for Massive Vert

Monday, October 18th, 2010

Greg Hill would put IHOP out of business if they offered all-you-can-eat mountainside pancakes. In his latest video he details how much food he has to consume on his way to 2 million vert. He’s just like Michael Phelps except that he actually seems like a decent guy.

Greg Hill Hits 1.5 Mil

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

Greg Hill has hit 1.5 million on his way to 2 million vert for the year. The above video offers a look at some of the gear he’s using in his attempt. I can’t help but think he gets a free piece of gear every time he mentions a brand name. I hope so; that’s a lot of vert for one person.

Greg Hill 2 Mil: You asked, he answered.

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Q&A with Greg Hill from Greg Hill 2 Mil on Vimeo.

You’d expect a guy who has spent almost every day since January 1 picking his way to the top of some mountain, logging in 1.25 million feet so far, to be as mellow as a well-run puppy on his down time. So he is. You’d also probably expect him to prefer merino wind brief underwear. Apparently, he does. “Mr. Reliable, Mr. Endless Energy” Greg Hill sat down with a glass of Argentinian red recently to answer questions that Backcountry.com likers posted to our Facebook page about his attempt to be the first human ever to climb 2 million vertical feet ski touring in one calendar year.

He’ll be answering questions regularly in his video dispatches from Out There, so feel free to ask — either here or on our Facebook page. For more real-time updates on his adventure, check in with Greg on his blog, or follow him on Twitter.
