Reel Rock 2011 Tour

Friday, September 9th, 2011

The Reel Rock 2011 Tour is coming to a mountain town near you. Great quote: “What we’re doing isn’t like, the way you want to teach rock climbing.” It seems like a few of this year’s short films surround the nature of one-upmanship and the push we find in ourselves to always do it faster, crazier or younger. Check out the trailer and the tour.

RainDrop, a Short Kayaking Film

Tuesday, August 16th, 2011

RainDrop, a short kayaking film and another fantastic reason to like the advent of the cheap, HD helmet cam. Great production quality, and a fun video, even if you’re like me and have never attempted to paddle whitewater in your entire life. (A great clip at 5:48 as well.)

Colder, Trailer for Save the Poles Documentary

Friday, August 12th, 2011

If you doubted that Eric Larsen was from Minnesota your doubts can be laid to rest after watching the trailer for his upcoming film Colder. The bold modern day polar explorer narrates this piece, and his accent make me feel like I’m back in the Country Bar in Uptown Minneapolis. Fantastic guy, I’m sure, and his accomplishments over 2009 speak for themselves: overland to the North and South Poles and to the summit of Everest in fall. Looks to be an interesting film.
