Cops Pullover DC Cab Driver Who Crossed Cyclist

Tuesday, May 21st, 2013

Isn’t it nice to have a story about police and cyclists where one group isn’t hating the other? A few days ago Bill Walsh was heading home on Pennsylvania Avenue with his ‘black box’ GoPro mounted on his head.  A cab made a U-turn directly in front of a No U-Turn Sign cutting off Bill. A police officer a few cars back saw the whole thing and pulled the cabbie over. It’s nice to pretend that the cop was pulling over the cab driver for cutting off the cyclist, so I’m going to keep assuming that’s the case. I don’t need to look into it any further than that.

Friday, May 17th, 2013

According to the Wall Street Journal, there’s an anti-Lycra backlash sweeping through the cycling world, and it’s because nobody wants to be associated with cheaters, dopers, and those who cry on Oprah and/or wear matching kit. More likely is that this story wouldn’t have gotten attention if it didn’t have a Lance Armstrong hook to [ more... ]

Thomas Vanderham POV Trail Crawl

Wednesday, May 8th, 2013

Thomas Vanderham made his way from Kamloops, BC to Utah hitting all his favorite trails along the way and shooting a reel for Sony to promote their Action Cam, so at least we know one person is using it. The bright green of the Pacific Northwest followed by a few days riding in Southern Utah, sounds like a solid way to pass the time. They even managed to sneak in a flight to Las Vegas since there’s nothing better than riding the desert with a crushing hangover.

Tuesday, May 7th, 2013

The League of American Bicyclists rated states by four parameters to rank them according to the most accommodating for cyclists, and North Dakota came in last. According to the Economist, Cycling is the New Golf

Wednesday, May 1st, 2013

I never made it in business, but at least I’ve always been able to tell myself that it’s because I’m terrible at golf. You know, spending Saturday networking on the golf course, talking about work and complaining about your home life? Well, according to the Economist, corporate sports hangouts are getting cooler. TRADITIONALLY, business associates [ more... ]
