You Finish, You Win: Gnarly Downhill Race Interactive
Those web mavens at NYTimes.com have put together a mockup of the Hahnenkamm in Kitzbuhel, Austria and found former World Cup skier Doug Lewis to narrate it. If you can ski this course then I guess you’ve won the right to use the word ‘gnarly’ as much as you want. Check out the interactive and then go back to thinking you could be a World Cup racer if they only allowed you to wear an inflatable sumo suit during the race.

What I want to know is if it is still that scary if you don’t ski it like a race. IE make turns, etc.

It wouldn’t a problem as long as you can pull the toughest, gnarliest snowplow in the world. I think they should run downhill races like multiclass road racing. The Open GT division skiers would have to negotiate the Jr’s plowing their way down the course. That’d be something to see.
