Steep: Big Mountain Skiing Documentary

“They ski where the risks are great…but the rewards are greater.” Cue a Kasabian guitar riff and put on the slo-mo cliff drop. Here’s the trailer for Steep, a historical account of big mountain skiing in the way that Riding Giants covers big wave surfing—that is, a lot of talking heads, some major spills, and gratuitous slow motion shredding.

Your a little behind on this one, that movie was released last year.

  3. Stephen Koch Says:

Good flick but what’s missing in it is snowboarding, which helped to save the ski industry and is the tool that many first descents (by any glisse tool) were done on.

The “as soon as I got out of jail, I went skiing” comment was bit over the top, but otherwise it was an entertaining movie. I like the historical aspect of it although it and there’s some pretty cool footage.
