Japanese-made People’s Airbag for the Elderly Might be a Boon for Skiers

Prop is making these airbags that wrap around an elderly person’s body and inflate in .1 seconds if they detect acceleration towards the ground. While the current technology would make for some funny looking skiing, an improved iteration could offer serious protection for skiers trying to find new ways to kill themselves. For now we’ll have to stick with the smart molecules that instantly harden when struck like you find in Ribcap hats, but maybe airbag armor isn’t too far off.
