Petzl MYO Headlamp + Rechargeable Batteries = Warm Hair
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has released a safety alert that Petzl MYO Headlamps can get so hot that they’ll melt their cords and can start on fire used with rechargeable batteries. Only 13 people have reported sparking or melting of the headlamps and two have seen them catch fire. One person suffered burnt hair, or “Bunsen head” as we called it in 7th grade science class, and one person burned their hand. Petzl will, of course, replace your headlamp with one that won’t kill you. The CPSC says you should be okay switching to non-rechargeable batteries, too.
Thanks Andrew

Why give up the headlamp? This is just one more redundant fire starting system.

If you read the CPSC page it says that Petzl will NOT replace the lamp, but they will send you a FREE warning sticker. Bonus!

How much for the sticker if I don’t buy the lamp?
