Stanley Classic Flask

stanley-flask

The lady at the Army Surplus Store who sold me my flask said in a high-pitched Chinese accent, “Don’t drink too much.” I haven’t, but only because the flask is too hard to fill without the funnel I lost on the first night out. Now the company that makes work thermoses and food containers for hikers is rolling out a slim flask. The Stanley Classic Flask has a wide mouth for easy refilling (and drinking) and costs $22.

    Handy Tip:

If you lose you’re flask’s funnel (everyone does), you can make an awesome foldable replacement out of duct tape. Just kinda wrap it around itself into a cone shape and then put more duct tape on the inside. If you play your cards right, you can even slide it under the little bar that holds the cap on.

    woof.

Nalgene makes a flask that’s really light and holds 12 oz and is clear of course so you can see what you have and how much of what you have is left. Besides, metal flasks should only ever be filled with one kind of liquid while the plastic ones retain less smell and taste so you can switch between different kinds of booze without flavors crossing. On the Nalgene one you don’t need a funnel and the cap can be used as a shot glass.
Do I sound like I’m a shill for Nalgene? Did I mention that they only cost about 8 bucks at REI?

Is that with-BPA nalgene or without-BPA nalgene?

Doesn’t most liquor come in a bottle already? Just suck it up and drink it out of that.

  5. WhiskyTangoFoxtrot Says:

Booze kills the BPA cooties and yeah, liquor comes in a bottles, at least the stuff I buy comes in glass bottles which aren’t the most suitable for the BC. Besides, I don’t usually carry a Fifth on my person.
