Two Birds Fly Surfboards

Say what you want about surf culture’s absorption into a massive multi-billion dollar industry, there are still boatloads of guys out there getting the real thing done. Two Birds Fly is an amazing new online surf store and gallery with boards made from top shapers and surf artists. Two Birds Fly runs Biofoam blanks and employs some of the most talented people in the business. Their hulls and fish run about $1500 apiece. Check out the site when you have some spare time.
Thanks Sam

Sorry, I don’t mean to come off as a hater. Neptune knows I appreciate hand shaped surfboards made in America but give me an effen break. Fifteen hundred bucks for regurgitating board shapes that are 30+ years old? I don’t think so.
However, I do see a trend lately where those retro designs are selling to 20 and 30 somethings who get love 70’s nostalgia.
I just think the prices are ridiculous, green washing aside. Oh, I forgot, it includes a custom screen-printed canvas board bag sewn by Ashley Hibbs. Art by Lana Porcello.
BFD. Board bags are for kooks.

You totally mean to come off as a hater.

^Yeah? Well as Bukowski would say, I hate love more than I love hate.
Besides, I don’t care what you think.

You don’t care what he thinks, but you feel the need to respond.
You hide your non-hater side really, really well.
As Ol’ Bill S. would say, In time we hate that which we often fear.

Why don’t both of you go wax each others surfboard or each others back or something.
Call me what you want but neither one of you squids are refuting what I say about the poufs in SF conning already mentally deficient surfers out of big bucks.

WTF is right on this one. Using Geo. Greenough’s name to sell your boards is a crock. I’ve ridden George’s shapes and no one except George understood what he created. The 70s sucked the first time around, the boards that didn’t become yellowed bananas might have been minor classics. Its the rider, not the board.

^Agree- rider over the board.
But I call it evolution. The 70’s were a time of experimentation that got us where we are today.
Some shapes and designs endure and some are transitional.
The Thruster is by far the greatest, high performance design to come along and the trad long board will never die.
Personally, I don’t care what you ride as long as I get my waves. My beef with Two Birds Pooping is the same as yours along with the fact that using graphics and green washing to sell boards is for suckers.
Bio foam is OK. Sure, it’s more biodegradable but still consumes resources to manufacture.

Yeah but how do they taste? You know thats all the sharks care about.

We need Jaws 4! That will clear out the water! heck the sharks are losing the battle to eat surfers…with billions more surfers there are less shark bites than ever…more reason to go windsurfing, and get more waves and run over those worn out surf dudes..
If I’m a shark and I see a giant SUP board…looks like a whale compared to some 6′ thruster meal…think about it…
