Toronto’s Black Hole for Bikes
The New York Times ran a great story last week about Igor Kenk’s legacy of thousands of stolen bikes across Toronto. Theft victims were invited to walk through the 2, 396 bikes piled in a warehouse to see if they could find their old rides, and police announced that Kenk had been charged with 58 crimes related to theft and drug possession. The story raises the obvious question: What does a guy do with 4,000 bikes piled in warehouses across the city? They speculate that he was going to melt them down for scrap metal, or have a “Bike Fire Sale” when gas prices climbed over $10 a gallon. What surprises me most is that he hadn’t been caught earlier. I mean, with that many bikes stolen, he must have taken at least two from each Toronto resident.

He was collecting them like Pokemon. Maybe he was trying to help out all the Craiglister’s out there by making bikes in Toronto a rare commodity!

OH COME ON, HE LOOKS LEGIT!!! (NOT!)
He should be tied down and run over by every person who reclaimed a bike stolen by him (on the bike of course).
