Malibu Public Beach Safari

I don’t make it to the Bu much (ever, really), but you don’t need to live in Malibu or be a class warrior to appreciate what’s going on at Urban Ranger. They’re leading a series of Malibu Beach Safaris to show local residents how to access public beaches that have all but been co-opted by the insanely wealthy. The beach trips have mostly passed, but they’re also hosting three guides to finding public beaches that are hidden by fake No Parking signs and boundaries put up by homeowners.

Is it a slow day in the blogosphere?
The access points aren’t a secret and have been there for decades.
In fact there are signs like the one above that tells you where they are.
We go to them all the time. The one next to David Geffen’s house is OK.
I hope that whomever is conducting tours of the access points is charging too much for pointing out signs on the highway.

On the right day, really early in the morning, it can be magic. I swear it.
