The Don Corleone of Toronto Bike Theft is Caught

bike-theft

Owner of The Bicycle Clinic, Igor Kent, was finally caught by Toronto police in the act of stealing two bikes. It was widely known in the city for years that they guy was slinging stolen bikes out of his shop, but the Mounties always said they were too busy with bigger fish to fry. I guess they must have meant that they were literally going fishing and then hosting Fish Fry fundraisers since there’s so little crime in America Lite. During the bike bait sting program fun by Toronto police they caught Igor on tape directing a guy to cut locks off two bikes before paying the cutter. He’s walking away with a couple $5,000 fines, which is really  an acceptable price to pay for dealing in stolen bikes for 20 years.

You forgot to mention the thousands & thousands of bikes that were recovered from the back of his store, house, storage facilities (yes plural). you should show a photo of all the bikes that were recovered…it’s ridiculous.

My bike was stolen when I was a kid. It wasn’t worth more than $100, if that, but it was the most important thing I owned. It represented freedom, fun, and a way to interact with friends. I have a huge amount of disdain for anyone that steals bikes.

this is a case where the bike community needs to step up and pull a pedal-by beating with chain locks
