Unimog Camper Classes up the KOA

A duo of Belgian architects turned their Unimog all-terrain truck into a camper they use to travel Europe six months out of the year. From the pictures it looks like a bad place to drink coffee while going down bumpy roads or have your dog shake off after rolling in the mud. The Unimog is a hell of a lot more stylish than Laura Bush’s Airstream, so I guess we finally have to admit that the Belgians have bested the U.S. even in trailer park life.

I’ve wanted an RV forever but with the price of fuel it’s not going to happen until that industry makes some big changes and jumps on the hybrid idea. The problem is that many RV makers don’t actually make their own engines. They just build the home on top of a truck, so I guess the hybrid technology will have to come from the truck makers. Seeing the price of diesel now I won’t be surprised if it doesn’t come in the next few years.
I’ll be old someday and I want my RV.
