Whistler Blackcomb Peak 2 Peak Rig

Five massive steel cables that will be used to string a gondola from Whistler to Blackcomb arrived in Canada the other day. This freakshow lift is going to be more fun than the Grand Canyon Skywalk and about 10 times as expensive. That’s what you have to love about the Canadians—they’ll spend tons of cash on an unnecessary project like this just because it creates jobs and fuels a cool, healthy industry. Damn socialists. When the Peak 2 Peak lift is complete, it’ll stretch about 4 miles with only 4 towers, and the longest unsupported stretch will be 1.86 miles and about a mile off the ground.

this is the problem that persists with lame-ass whining reporters such as this dork. sure, go ahead and stereotype an entire nation just becuz he thinks its funny and is worth writing about on the web. this dork can get away with it in a bar when he’s drunk with his free beer and fake women than serve him, but once it goes to the www, it’s awhole new ball game and it will be sooner than later before he gets his due. on the other hand, he may be so far drunk, it won’t be long before he exits permanently.
get your facts staright and do some research before you babble on, dork. obviously you don’t/can’t snowboard and it shows poorly. i bet you can’t even walk on snow straight, your rubber arse is to bouncy to hold up!

you don’t understand sarcasm, do you tosh? what happened to the good ol’ canadian politeness? maybe your tolerance is directly tied to the u.s. dollar’s strength.
besides, even the author would most likely laugh at being called a “reporter”. blowhard, sure, but reporter, not likely.
i haven’t seen too many snowboarders walk straight on snow lately– at least not with a snowboard.

I don’t really think it’s the Canadians that want this thing. More Intrawest than anything. Look at Winter Park and Steamboat. As soon as they were bought a brand new high speed six pack was put in. Not necessarily a bad thing, just this is the newest way to make things bigger and better.
