Rabble-Rousing Skater Jailed for Skating in Traffic

Technically he was jailed for not paying his fines, but this blog has never been known for splitting hairs. Pro skater 25-year-old Lee Breen spent 5 days in jail after accumulating various skate-related tickets that went unpaid. Of course, this guy was Canadian and it was a jail in the Great White North, so I’m sure everyone was very pleasant and the health care in the facility was top notch. The weirdest part is that he was originally ticketed not for poaching rails at the Mounty Station or waxing down curbs that later broke several Canadian hips when people slipped—he was ticketed for skateboarding in traffic. Those socialists and their damn traffic-skateboarding laws.
