SLC vs. DIA (and some Sugarhouse gangsta rap)

What is more concerning, the possibility of bigger crowds at the Bird because of this documentary or the fact that there is a hip hop song about Salt Lake City?

UH, yeah. The fact that there is a hip hop song. How much did the board of tourism pay for those rappers to write a rhyme about SL,UT??
Don’t get me wrong Gulotta. You and I both know that’s what the parking lot at the Bird sounds like, g
    :-)
Only one bitch about the stats at the end.. 55k of vert! really?

  2. Angus Bohanon Says:

55000 feet of vertical at snowbird means 17 runs, which in 6 hours means 20 min round trip per run. at snowmass, a similar elevation gain on the lifts (all hi-speed) takes about 15. I’ve dropped 3000 feet at snowmass in 4 minutes, but still, 55000 vertical seems a bit much.

Ugh, you linked it from The Mountain Culture? Please don’t support a “blog” that will delete posts if you a. disagree with their opinion, or b. give them shit about how they think Jackson is the raddest place, ever.

  4. SLC Bandit Says:

This video is lame. If you fly into Vail or many of the other ski resort towns in Colorado it will take just as long as driving up LCC. I was disappointed that this video did not show the absurd amount of locals fighting for that pristine pow, the tram line that will not allow you to bag 55K of vert, and the possibility that the canyon might be closed; in which case you and half of SLC will be waiting in a line of cars to battle for the pow. Little Cottonwood and Snowbird/Alta are becoming more and more of a joke each year with less and less space due to absurd marketing efforts by Dick and Bob. Spend your money wisely and go somewhere cool like Canada.

And on a Pow day the tram wait alone is a minimum of 20 minutes.

  6. Kevin Clegg Says:

Vail blows anyway, but at least they get real beer for apres.

  7. Patrick Says:

I think what is most concerning is that I watched the whole freakin’ thing. What the hell is wrong with me!?!
