Avoiding Getting Poisoned on the Trail

poison-cat-dragged-in-rulezzz

Gadling put together a nice little primer on how to avoid bites from poisonous animals and insects. Almost universally, the advice is to wear heavy boots and thick socks, and then tuck your pants into your socks. I don’t know anyone who wears heavy boots anymore, and none of my friends will permit me to tuck my pants into my socks. I find that the second best advice is just to pretend that poisonous arachnids (gross pic) and scorpions don’t exist, and just run like hell if you ever happen to see one of the magical creatures.
