Ask Your City Council for Bike Lids Instead of a New Public Golf Course
These things look like something you’d see at a KOA Campground, but you can’t argue with effectiveness. The BikeLid shells are lauded for their recycled and recyclable composition, low cost, and effectiveness in preventing bike theft. They remind me of wind turbines because they’re obviously very effective and smart but super ugly so no one wants them in their community. The cheap plastic shells are bolted to the concrete and have a spring-loaded mechanism that makes them easy to open and close, and they lock with a regular U-lock.

these remind me of the houses they keep veal calves in.
While you drive through the country of NY you see small plots of white houses similar to the Bike lid - they keep baby cows in there milk fed for the slaughter.
I hope there are no baby cows under those bike lids!
YIKES!!

I was thinking similarly, except that these things might be attractive as shelters to homeless people. Easy to clean, safe, rain proof, and if someone kicks it in there, you just slide the corresponding plastic lid under it, and VOILA, off to the dump you go!
