Crux eVent Sleeping Bag
eVent will keep your ass dry while riding chairlifts, but Crux using it on sleeping bags is overkill. People will think this thing is a bivy sac made for sleeping solo in the outdoors, and then they’ll find one major design flaw when it rains and they have to sleep on their stomach to avoid drowning. Wrapping a sleeping bag in eVent or Gore-Tex only helps if you’re an idiot who can’t avoid sandy ground and dry river beds when it looks like rain. A DWR coating on your sleeping bag does the job of keeping it dry from spilled water or a little snow, and an eVent wrap only serves to add weight and limit breathability. Don’t bother treating your sleeping bag like a shelter when you’re going to carry a tent anyway.

“The new Torpedo is, says Crux, ‘absolutely for climbers’ and essentially is the equivalent of a bivvy bag and a sleeping bag all in one.”
I think this is a pretty focused product for a niche buyer- big wall climbers. IMHO.

Could be good for amateur tarp campers like me. Some rain blows in or you pick a lousy spot, and everything is still a-o-k. And, eVent seems to actually work….
