Redline Women’s Specific Commuting Bikes
There’s a scene in Daniel Duane’s Caught Inside where a guy tells his buddy that if his girlfriend ever wants to try surfing he has a brand new board and wetsuit that would be a perfect fit for her. One of those things you buy for your wife and she never uses. This new Redline Chick 925 reminds me of that scene. Girls who really ride are more than capable of picking out bikes on their own, and I have this idea that buying a bike for a girl is a homewrecker. I think every one of my friends who has bought a bike for his girlfriend has split up shortly after. Still you can’t argue with trying to get people to commute by bike.

you’re so right about the homewrecking comment! My wife and I talked about getting her a bike, so we could ride together. yeah right, that’s going to happen. NOT.

A couple of years after we were married, I built up a road and a MTB for my wife. Road: used once. MTB: more successful. Ten years later, I bought a tandem: used once. Maybe I’ll learn.

Is there any difference in the geometry of this bike versus a regular 925? I’m a female and I ride my bike all the time. I know lots of women that ride bikes. I think you guys have it all wrong. It’s not that your wife doesn’t want to ride bikes. It’s that she doesn’t want to ride bikes with you!

“Why do I have to shift? There’s something wrong with this bike. You say it just came back from the bike shop? Well there’s something wrong with it anyway.” “I don’t like this, this is no fun. What do you mean shift it? How do I do that? Which lever do I press? I did that one already. Quit yelling!”etc etc etc
