Slash-Proof Clothing Coming to Outdoor Gear?
This slash-proof shirt comes to us from a uniform-maker in Japan, and its purveyors are trying to find buyers in the outdoor industry. Besides those guys who skated with knives on their fingers in an episode of Max Headroom and really paranoid Americans heading to Europe or Canada, I’m not sure that they’ll find a market. Maybe ice climbers with bad aim. It also doesn’t help that the short-sleeve shirt will cost about $200 and only be available in Japan—which makes me wonder why they have this American model with dyed-blonde hair. At least the brand will still be cooler than Under Armor.

They use the blonde because foreign workers are cheaper.

it’s designed for slashing, as in by the wild-eyed backountry samurai that are so common in the wilds of japan. Not resistant to knives (at least knives wielded by normal people), sticks, teeth, bugs, sun, wind, rain, snow, grass clippings, marshmallow fluff, or tree hugger outdoor accessory belts. studies have shown that wearers of slash-proof clothing stand a 100% chance of being stabbed by anyone who finds out they are wearing slash-proof clothing, ironically something the clothing does not protect against.

I just have to say, that shirt looks good on that blond. Dang! Nothing like looking at outdoor stuff and finding some nice booty.
