Inflatable Rescue Sled Concept Fits into Backpack
I’m lucky that I have yet to be dragged off the mountain in sled, but since I’m sure it’s only a matter of time until I’m the one lying in a pile on the ground and begging for ski patrol, I hope this concept inflatable sled makes it to market. Janine Zust’s inflatable rescue sled the Firun folds into a backpack and then pops into sled mode with a CO2 inflator. Friends have said the ride to the bottom is the most painful part of the injury if you don’t count hearing that your season’s over, and the inflatable action might make the ride slightly more bearable. Until they start letting Ski Patrol carry morphine, this inflatable sled concept is all we have.

We do use morphine, but I guess we could all use a little inflatable help.
