Crossing the Ditch: Kayaking from Australia to New Zealand

crossing-the-ditch

Two guys are trying to escape crazed dingos in Australia by paddling their tandem kayak all the way to New Zealand. They’re currently on day 12 of the trip, and you can see updates of their position posted every 10 minutes. This is an excerpt from one of the blog posts they manage to write each day while taking breaks from paddling.

What a hectic night… the combination of 20kt winds and current running the oposite way have really made the seas stand up over night. We’ve had many a wave crash and run over the entire length of the cabin.

Too bad they’ll have to turn around when they hit New Zealand since a group of kids will probably be gathered on the beach to throw rocks at their kayak. Kids are so savvy with those constantly updated websites these days.
