This Friday the CEO of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows will be on CBS’s TV show Undercover Boss, where the head of a normally faceless organization goes undercover to see how the other 99% lives. You know, slum it with the employees in the trenches for a few hours before taking the private elevator back to the top of the ivory tower. Andy Wirth, president and CEO of Squaw, has worked in hotel and resort management for over 25 years, but I have no idea whether he’s ever bumped a chair. I can’t wait until his co-workers teach him how to carve a pipe out of an apple. I suspect that at the end of Andy’s shift Squaw will institute a drug testing policy and revisit their safety manuals.
