New York Times Loves Jeremy Jones

By Steve Casimiro on February 25th, 2013

jeremy jones 470Dang, give the Grey Lady some respect: Despite being undermanned and beset at all angles by the wolves of declining print advertising, readership, and online pressures, the New York Times still manages to get things right when it comes to adventure, this time with a glowing profile of snowboarder Jeremy Jones. And why not glow? Jones doesn’t drop millions on vanity movies, he goes deep into the world’s wildest places, climbs up under his own power, and picks his way down ultra-sketchy lines. He helped bring split boards to greater awareness, h’s not afraid to turn back when conditions demand it, and he’s not a chest thumper. The Times mentioned Jones’s efforts to fight climate change, too — though in a sidebar video and not the main text. Via NY Times.
