New England Resorts Hyping Super Storm
By Rocky Thompson on February 8th, 2013After an incredibly weak season that would make yellow snow look gold, New England has cranked up the hype machine for an approaching blizzard that they’re calling a historic winter storm. They hope to get up to two feet of snow, which for them is indeed historic. People of the West, rejoice. Give thanks that you get real storms on a consistent basis, and that a storm that drops two feet of high-water-content snow doesn’t call for press conferences. The worst part? If too much snow falls, most of these resorts will end up having to close because they can’t deal with it.

Haters gonna hate, There has been plenty of snow out here in the east. I’ve already had 3 powder day, pssssssshhhht you guys put up a pic of people spring skiing hahaha. I havent seen a bare spot on the slopes this whole season. Tickets and gear are tooooo expensive!!!!!!!!! no ones skiing anymore, get the picture resort CEOs, Westerners and there arrogance hahaha
This post is just in bad taste. We have a ton of snow here on the East Coast and I have yet to see a bare spot all season. What makes it worse is you put a image of spring skiing next to the post. I enjoy coming to this site to read good stories, not a weak post like this. Haha, Come on Goat! Your better than this.
Harsh Rocky.
all the more reason you should stay on the west coast.. we don’t want to make you cry..
Only three powder days this season? Sounds like what Utah is going to have this weekend :)
It’s been rough in So. VT since Christmas, but not as bad as last year. Not sure what resorts you’re referring to that “will end up having to close because” of the snow. 2′ is a good storm for anyone, but it’s not unheard of for resorts in ski country.
High water content? Guess you never skied Jay Peak, huh?
Yawgoo Valley, RI: Today’s status “Closed due to impending storm”
Who wants to ski 31 inches of new snow, anyway?

^ You got me. Everyone knows all 240 vertical feet of scenic Yawgoo Valley is the epicenter of east coast skiing.
Love the pic. Jeans, shorts, suspenders, skirts. I wanna party there.
Rode the storm in NH all weekend. Nobody in MA could get there because of the driving ban, place was deserted til Sunday when it was skied out. The southern resorts got 2 feet, the northern resorts a bit over a foot but they had no base due to the 60 degree day with a few inches of rain a week prior. Its really not about snow, the high temps and rain are vaporizing the base. 60 in January? WTF!!
