Leaked Documents Show Potential Budget Crisis for National Parks.

The Obama administration’s been having a hard time keeping sensitive memos out of the press lately. A leaked document from the National Park Service shows that unless Congress and the President come to terms on a budget deal, the NPS’s budget would be cut 5%. That means less seasonal staff, less upkeep, no expansion, wage freezes, and possibly shorter hours and less staff in parks. Another leaked doc shows that cuts will not be 5% across the board, and some parks will need to shoulder more the burden, including Yellowstone and Yosemite. Perhaps this has something to do with the news that Yellowstone is raising their campground fees 30%? I’m no math scientist, but I think it might.
