Crested Butte Backcountry Skiers Find Lost Cattle

A group of backcountry skiers in Gunnison County skinned a burly ridge that has a pitch of at least 40 degrees to find several cattle hanging out at the top. Rather surprised they took a couple photos and asked if anyone had lost their cattle atop Heart Attack Ridge. By the time they reached the base a few thankful ranchers were waiting. Now, it’s a bit odd that there’s some kind of a Bat Signal skiers can send to ranchers for lost cattle, but whatever they did it worked. The next day several skiers helped the ranchers slide the cattle down the mountainside, and one of the survivors (cattle) was butchered at the base. Hopefully the skiers went home with some nice free steak dinners.
