ALITE Designs Turns to Kickstarter For Cook Set
By Rocky Thompson on January 16th, 2013San Francisco design and outdoor company ALITE has turned to Kickstarter to fund their upcoming camp Clover Cook Set. The design is simple and functional: You get a plastic spoon and spatula that can be snapped together to make tongs. So why does an established company like ALITE need Kickstarter? They say the molds cost $20k to produce, which is preventing them from moving into the market (and I’m sure having an established list of buyers is a great way to start selling them.) Going in for $20 gets you your own Clover Cook Set.
