Living Giant Squid Caught on Film
By Rocky Thompson on January 9th, 2013For the first time ever, a live, giant squid was caught on film. A Japanese research vessel shot the footage and snapped stills about 2,066 feet deep in the Pacific Ocean. For reference, the submarine in the photo holds 3 researchers and is 31 feet long. We’ll have to wait for the video. The release of the stills is part of a Discovery Channel PR move, and they’ll show it on their network. It’ll be one of those two-hour specials crafted around four seconds of footage, like their shows on Bigfoot.
