Did Stranded Fishermen Cannibalize Their Friends?

Four friends go on a fishing trip. They get stranded for several months before rescue. Two survive, and though they’re not particularly well-fed, when the body of one of the friends is recovered, it’s found cut into pieces, many of them are missing. From the article: “Evidently, investigators twice visited the site and removed human body parts, suggesting violent death.” I don’t know how they do things in Russia, but why didn’t they just take the entire body on the first trip out there? And wow, the fish must have really been not biting.
