GoPro Catches Trail Runner’s Encounter with a Grizzly Bear

By Rocky Thompson on October 3rd, 2012

The sheer volume of hours of headache-inducing helmet cam footage uploaded by trail runners and mountain bikers is unfathomable. You think there’d be some level of self editing. It’s baffling that not only do some of these videos actually get watched, but the shooters continue to run their cameras after seeing what the footage looks like after their first filmmaking attempt. And you can’t blame them entirely; there’s the chance they’ll have an encounter like this one. Skip to the 3-minute mark of the run (and you can stop watching 30 seconds later).

I couldn’t agree more. I have no issue with someone recording an hour long bike ride, I just wish they’d only upload the 30 seconds to 1 minute that is worth watching.

In this case, I think the first 3 minutes sets you up to get used to the runner’s pace, and then makes the increased speed after the grizzly that much more hilarious.
