Scorpion Sting Costs Woman $83,000

By Rocky Thompson on September 11th, 2012

A woman in Arizona was rushed to the hospital after a scorpion came out of a box of air conditioner filters in her garage and stung her. The ER medics told her about an amazing Mexican anti-venom called Anascorp that would relieve her symptoms. She agreed that it sounded like a good deal and they gave her two doses. She didn’t find out until later that each dose costs $40k. Her medical center says the treatment costs are out-of-network, so she’s on the hook for the entire thing. Too bad she wasn’t in Mexico when it happened, I bet it’s cheaper there.

  1. 'MERICA

It’s $100 a dose in Mexico, but ignore that because ~AMERICA~ has the best healthcare system in the world.
