Bear Saves Man Attacked By Mountain Lion
By Steve Casimiro on March 29th, 2012
A man attacked by a mountain lion was saved by a bear. Or so claims Robert Biggs of Paradise, California, who was hiking Monday in a place called Bean Soup Flat when he came upon a sow with two cubs. He had just turned to backtrack away from the bears when a mountain lion pounced on him and grabbed his backpack. “They usually grab hold of your head with all four paws, but my backpack was up above my head and (the mountain lion) grabbed it instead,” Biggs said. “It must have been stalking the little bear, but it was on me in seconds.” Then the mother bear jumped on the cat and the two battled for 15 seconds before the mountain lion ran away. Biggs was left with cuts on his arm, and, according to his wife, no lesson learned — this is a guy who claimed to have played a game of pattycake with a bear cub the previous year. Via Paradise Post.
