Penguins on a Plane

I understand that all kinds of animals are used in Hollywood for films. But something about penguins being set free to roam a plane still appalls me. Why? Well, for one thing, the penguins are being flown to New York to be used to promote Discovery’s Frozen Planet, which is kind of like the TV show Planet Earth except it’s for the polar regions. When I watch the trailer for Frozen Planet, I associate an environmental message with it. Polar, climate change, polar bears in the north, penguins in the south, giant waves washing over New York City, and Texas on fire all summer. So bringing in the stars of the film, the very animals affected by our gluttonous choices, doesn’t seem quite right. Especially with every idiot on the flight blasting them with flashbulbs.
