Helicopter Falls to Pieces on Landing

By Rocky Thompson on February 24th, 2012

Next time your super rich buddy mentions in an email that he’s going heli skiing in the Wasatch again this weekend, take a moment to send him this video of a helicopter disintegrating in Brazil. They believe it was caused by ground resonance, which can happen when the rotor is spinning and the helicopter is on the ground. “But don’t the rotors need to start spinning before you take off?” you can ask your friend.

Def helo resonance, the pilot may have been idling to long on the soft ground… check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LFLV47VAbI

EMT: “Sir, you have compound fractures of both legs and both arms. We’ll have you on a chopper and to a trauma center shortly.”

    Me: “No thanks, I’ll walk.”
