The Most Interesting Man in the World?
By Rocky Thompson on February 21st, 2012At 9 he shot up his Boy Scout campsite. At 13 he traded pelts in the Amazon. At 20 he became an apprentice to a pirate. He rowed across the Atlantic. And then the Pacific.
True story, all of it. The obit for John Fairfax reads like a Dos Equis commercial. Of course, another way to say it would be, “At 9 he tried to shoot another kid. At 13 he hunted endangered animals. At 20 he smuggled drugs. And he also rowed across two oceans, which is pretty rad no matter how you cut it.”
Check out the full obituary at The New York Times. It’s worth the read.
