Four Fall From Big Sky Chairlift

By Rocky Thompson on February 14th, 2012

An instructor and three of his students fell from a chairlift at Big Sky. No one was seriously injured, and officials are saying it was not a mechanical failure. The word is that a bit of fresh snow may have broken the fall, though I suspect it wasn’t the “packed powder” touted in the snow report that softened the blow. These kinds of accidents are extremely rare, and so far no one from Big Sky is saying what happened. This will be a good story for the instructor to tell his students next time his group is screwing around on the chairlift.
