Barefoot Climbers Summit Mt Kilimanjaro

By Rocky Thompson on February 2nd, 2012

Two feet of snow had fallen days earlier and the crew encountered several climbers turned back from the summit, but the Barefoot Impi team made it to the top of the 19,340ft Mount Kilimanjaro barefoot the entire way. They marched over fields of scree and dealt with temperatures below freezing. Thankfully they never had to don crampons. The Barefoot Impi team made the trek to raise funds for the Red Cross Children’s Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa.
