Lost Snowshoer on Rainier Burned Cash for Warmth

By Rocky Thompson on January 25th, 2012

Nothing to make you ponder a lifetime spent trying to earn cash like literally burning your money for warmth while trying to survive. A 66-year-old snowshoer lost his way on Mount Rainer after sliding down a steep hillside he was unable to climb up. He thought he’d walk along the ridge and meet up with his crew a bit farther along the trail, but he only became more lost. So he set to digging a snow cave and burning all his possessions for warmth. It’s times like these you don’t get mad the barista at the local coffee shop had all singles instead of $20s.

  1. Goose

    Rainier…

  2. the Outage

I would’ve guessed that whatever makes cash impervious to water would also degrade its flammability.

[Insert lame joke about money burning a hole in his pocket here].
