It’s nice to see that the climbing circus that usually surrounds Mount Everest has found a new venue. Next week a team of five climbers will attempt to summit Kilimanjaro without wearing shoes. No, it’s not my bachelor party. This group is doing the climb to benefit the Red Cross Children’s Hospital in Cape Town. It’s a bit of a rocky, steep climb, and climbing it barefoot wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t also snow capped. A worthy cause, good luck on the whole “no shoes” thing.
