The Gear to Grow Program

By Rocky Thompson on January 18th, 2012

So you didn’t take Patagonia’s advice to “not buy this jacket.” And you’ve found yourself with a closet stacked with neon pants and one-piece snowsuits that seemed like a great idea at the time. Now you’re decked out in your all-white stormtrooper outfit and no one wants to pay for your old garbage on eBay. What to do? Well, give it to someone who needs it. Gear to Grow is doing so on a massive scale. This program aimed at getting gently used gear donated by big companies (including my benefactors at Backcountry.com) into the hands of non-profits who will get more people outdoors.
