The Canoe Trip Across Canada

By Rocky Thompson on January 10th, 2012

This May a group of four Minnesotans will attempt to cross Canada with canoes paddling from the Pacific to Hudson Bay. If they make it, they’ll be the first ones to do so. The 2,600 miles will begin with a 30 mile hike to the first river where they’ll pick up their canoes. From then on the longest portage they take on the expedition will be about two miles. The 2012 Trans-Territorial Canoe Expedition will resupply every 20 to 45 days, hoping to close out the trip before the ice moves back in.
