Instagram Works on Bottom of the Ocean

If SanDisk has a clue, it’s going to whip up some quick promo material and take advantage of some amazing luck. This Canon Rebel XS/EOS 1000 spent a year at the bottom of Deep Bay, British Columbia, when biologist Markus Thompson who was diving there found it. He pulled it up, cleaned it, and managed even to salvage photos from the memory card, despite a year of salt water corrosion. Then he put the images (from the SanDisk Extreme III card) onto Google+ which enabled him to find the camera’s owner: a firefighter from British Columbia. Now we want to know: 1. Can the camera be rejuvenated after a year in salt water? 2. If not, will Canon give the guy a new one? 3. Will SanDisk still warranty the card?
