Rescue at the Bottom of the Earth
By Rocky Thompson on November 29th, 2011One team making an overland push through Antarctica required rescue after a person became sick and had to get out. A member of Richard Weber’s expedition had to be airlifted to Punta Arenas and she is reportedly getting the attention she needs. So, who do you call when you need to get out of Antarctica? Antarctic Logistics & Expeditions pulled off the medivac. I have to wonder how many calls these guys get each year. I’d really hate to be on the receiving end of that ambulance bill, though I guess it beats the alternative.
