Surfing’s shortboard revolution started with a fin, says Nathan Pratt, one of the original Z-Boys, who curated a show on the evolution of boards from 1965 to 1984 running now at the California Heritage Museum in Santa Monica. “Greenough’s fin design…changed modern surfing,” he said in an interview with Transworld Business. It went from being the fat, D-shaped fins to the high aspect dorsal fin.
